Windsor Stool

Make a Windsor stool using traditional tools and techniques.

Explore the simple tools and traditional techniques used to make Windsor chairs and stools. Participants in this course will make a Windsor stool using the same tools and construction methods used in Windsor chair making.

Carve a pine seat with hand tools. Split and shave green wood from a log. Gain practical experience with compound angle joinery commonly used in Windsor construction.

Spindle turning will be discussed, and students will have the option to turn their own legs to bring to class, or use turnings provided by the instructor. Students who turn their own legs receive a 50% discount on materials for the course.
