New England Furniture: Pine Chest
Build a traditional pine chest
This workshop series will explore the traditional tools and methods used in making early New England furniture.
While making a pine chest typical of those found in early New England households, students will develop their woodworking skills, build confidence in using basic tools, and gain practical experience working in the woodshop.
This course will include instruction in edge gluing panels, cutting and fitting dado and rabbet joints, installing chest hinges and hardware, and procedures for working safely with basic tools.
